I am beyond excited to be a part of the Harbison West Hero Family! Though I'm originally from Florence, SC, I proudly call Columbia home and I'm a proud graduate of Ridge View High School (Go Blazers!). Education is a big part of who I am! I'm a two-time graduate of Columbia College and also hold two degrees from Liberty University. My journey in education has taken me from classroom teacher to AVID elective teacher, math interventionist, and most recently, assistant principal, all at the middle school level. Outside of school, you can find me spending time with my amazing son and family, enjoying anything fun, adventurous, and full of life! I believe in the power of connection, growth, and joy in learning. I'm always excited to grow alongside our Hero students, families and staff. Let's make this year unforgettable!

Mrs. Katie Alexander, Administrative Assistant Principal

Hello, Harbison West family! I am absolutely thrilled to be here with you as a Harbison West Hero. I am a proud graduate of Lexington High School (Go Cats!).  As a child, I knew my learning style was unique. The turning point in my life came from teachers who saw my potential and helped me grow. Because of their belief in me, I went on to graduate from USC-Aiken with honors, earn a Master’s in Literacy from Walden University, complete graduate certificates at Clemson and Walden, and receive a Master’s in Educational Leadership from USC.

Every day, I carry the belief that teachers hold the power to change the world simply by seeing the potential in every student. Education is truly a family business— my grandmother, mother, and aunt were all accomplished educators, and I am proud to say chalk dust runs deep in my veins! When I am not at school, I cherish every moment spent with my husband and twin boys, visiting family, or enjoying a shopping day with close friends. I feel so blessed to be part of such a supportive administrative team and school community. Let's build something beautiful together this year!
